Walking, Yoga and Getting Outside
If exercise could be sold in a pill form, it would definitely be the most prescribed pill to date.
Exercise in any form has been shown to reduce anxiety, depression and improve sleep quality.
Even 20-30 minutes of exercise 2-3 times a week will release endorphins. Endorphins are the chemicals released in your brain that help promote feelings of happiness, calm and are what has coined the saying “runner’s high.”
Start small and give yourself realistic small goals.
Start with a walk around the block and a few gentle yoga stretches.
Soon as you build up your endurance, you will find yourself looking forward to your exercise as your “self care time.”
